Giuseppe Assirelli: grande fotografo goriziano

Giuseppe Assirelli (1950 - 1998), confirmed himself, in a brief but brilliant career, as one of the most popular photographers at the national and international level.
The evolution of his b/w technique lead him to experiment the potraits.
Later he began to use colors in his pictures.
In his darkroom he was used to develop the films and to manipulate them through various kind of techniques (eg. “solarisation” or photomontages through the using of Indian ink).
He considered the pothography a language and through its language he had helped to break down geographical barriers and political differences between us and neighboring countries (eg.: Yugoslavia at that time) leaving images to talk.
It's impossible to mention the endless list of hundreds of solo and group exhibitions in which he exhibited his works, all over the world, including London, Tokyo, New York. His works are still exhibited in museums and collections in Europe, America and South America and in his last book "Panorama di Gorizia" (B/W, 1996) where the territory of our region takes shape gradually, offering unprecedented and unexpected images. It had to be the beginning of a new "era" for him to start shooting in B & W again. A love that he had never forgotten although he had dedicated himself to color.
